“My brother is indeed critically sick,” the family member said, “and we are still praying for him after being discharged from hospital and being treated home but he is not dead.”

The family of the Member of Parliament for Ahanta West, Ebenezer Kojo Kum have denied claims that he is dead.

According to his senior brother, Nana Mensah Kumah III of Turom, the MP who also doubles as the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs is critically ill and receiving treatment.

This follows rumours of an impending by-election after the news went viral on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, that the MP’s condition had allegedly deteriorated.

The NPP MP is said to have suffered a life-threatening condition that has paralysed him and caused extensive damage to his brain.

Sources close to him say his mobility has greatly been limited with some casting doubts whether he’ll be able to fully make a return to his parliamentary and Ministerial duties.

In an audio message on the social media app, WhatsApp, Nana Mensah Kumah III who appeared frustrated by the death rumours insisted that the lawmaker is not dead.

“My brother is indeed critically sick,” the family member said, “and we are still praying for him after being discharged from hospital and being treated home but he is not dead.”

Requesting for prayers and well wishes, Nana Kumah added that if the MP was truly dead, he would have been the first to be informed.
