“The Phoenix is a mythical bird known for its regenerative powers. The phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor with renewed youth to live through another cycle. It symbolizes renewal, consecration and resurrection. We therefore believe that one can emerge from a traumatic abuse renewed, regenerated and stronger”, she said.

Nana Ama Adoma, who suffered a form of abuse in her life, seeks through her foundation to bring awareness and assistance to women and children who due to abuse and neglect, are living with psychological and emotional trauma; and encourage them to leave the victim story behind and be who they ought to be. “On rare circumstances where they are granted the justice they seek, memories of the abuse are forever inscribed in their minds. Life is never the same again until healing is embraced.”

The CEO revealed, “I am doing this to help vulnerable individuals who have suffered the same fate as me. I have experienced it but have been restored. I may have gotten help in my restoration and healing process, but what about those who have no one to help them or understand their fears. The foundation exists to prevent and treat abuse, trauma and neglect, and its aftermath as well as identify, care and fully integrate these women into society as safer and healthier individuals.”
