In a post on X, the versatile rapper could not comprehend why despite the popularity of his song, it did not earn a nomination in any category.

Ghanaian rap sensation, Derrick Sarfo Kantanka, known in showbiz as Amerado Burner, has questioned the organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) – Charterhouse, for failing to nominate his hit song, “Kwaku Ananse” in this year’s edition of the Awards.

On March 28, 2024, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards Board released names of qualified nominees for this year’s awards at a well-attended launch ceremony held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre [AICC]

Amerado Burner was nominated in two categories on the night. His “Kwaku Ananse Remix” – featuring Fameye earned a place in the best collaboration category while The Hardest – Amerado earned a place in the best rap performance category.

However, the original version of his popular tune “Kwaku Ananse” failed to earn a nomination.

In a post on X, the versatile rapper could not comprehend why despite the popularity of his song, it did not earn a nomination in any category.

He posted:

“Dear @GHMusicAwards, Why was Kwaku Ananse (original) not nominated?”
