Deputy Agric Minister Kennedy Osei Nyarko has argued the 2020 budget was splendid because it captured the state of Ghana’s economy before the New Patriotic Party (NPP) took over office, the current state and the way forward.
The budget he said met his expectations because one major highlight was the fiscal discipline the government wants to maintain especially when we are preparing the 2020 polls.
He said the 2020 budget is full of hope, will unite us for growth and transformation.
According to him, his expectations of Consolidating Gains to Spur up Growth, Increasing the budget for Capital Expenditures, Outlining Innovative way of Revenue Mobilization, Creating More Job Opportunities and the Coming out with a permanent solution to deal with the Energy Sector Debts and the IPPs Brouhaha were all met.
Commenting on the 880,000 million farmers who have benefited from the planting for food and jobs policy, he said it was a typographical error.
He insisted the fact of the matter is that 880,000 farmers have benefited from the policies of the government hence the error should be ignored.
He was optimistic the NPP will continue to transform the lives of Ghanaians should they maintain the party in 2020.
AS vote for the NDC in 2020 he added will spell doom for the country and destRoy the gains made under the NPP.
The Minister on Wednesday said: “A total production of 1,505,850mt of cereals and legumes and 405,630mt of vegetables with a total value of GH¢1.55 billion and GH¢3.43 billion respectively was achieved between 2017 and 2018 alone.
