The National Sports Authority (NSA) was warned against the open display of “any political or pressure group paraphernalia, apparel, or placards at the Accra Sports Stadium” during today’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers match.
Ghana takes on Sudan at the Accra (Ohene Gyan) Sports Stadium today in their third Group F match.
According to the NSA, any form of protest at the stadium, as apparently planned by some individuals for the said game, is prohibited by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Disregarding this directive, the NSA said will end in the arrest of protesters.

Lately, protests have become common, especially in Accra. Individuals and organisations have embarked on anti-illegal mining (galamsey) actions in view of the environmental devastations witnessed across the country, affecting waterbodies, forests and farmlands.
