A 29-year-old Ghanaian in India has been arrested with cocaine with a street value of $1,200.
The police arrested the Ghana national with the narcotic substance at Calangute, Goa in the early hours of Saturday.
Calangute police said during routine patrolling, they spotted the accused outside a resort along the Calangute-Mapusa road. Upon suspicion, police conducted a search and found nine grams of cocaine in the storage compartment of his two-wheeler.
“Goa police is committed towards zero tolerance of drugs. Our action against drugs and other illegalities will continue,” Calangute PI Nolasco Raposo said in a report.
The Ghanaian has been put in police custody.
