6 more arrested over Ayawaso West Wuogon NPP office attack

The Ghana Police Service has arrested six additional suspects in connection with the violent attack at the New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency.

The attackers allegedly destroyed some properties, including two vehicles, at the NPP office.

The incident on Sunday, July 7, 2024, caused tension in the community, prompting authorities to restore order swiftly.

Initially, one suspect was apprehended, and seven others were declared wanted by the police.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, July 11, the police noted that six more suspects have been arrested in connection to the alleged crime.

The six suspects are Alhaji Issah Kamara, Theophilus Kodzo Bedzra, Abdulai Victoria Naematu Nadolie, Hope Adzrah, Francis Agbessi Funu, and Christian Biakuse.

They are currently in police custody, assisting with the investigation.

This latest development brings the total number of arrests related to the incident to seven.

The police have assured the public that all other suspects involved in the attack will be apprehended and brought to justice.

The reason for the attack remains unknown.
