The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has criticised the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) over its claims regarding the ongoing 8-lane Kasoa-Winneba Highway project.
Mr. Nkansah accused the NDC of spreading false information about the project.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, August 28, he pointed out that the NDC has misled Ghanaians regarding the source of funds for the highway’s expansion.
He emphasised that the NDC’s claim that the construction is being funded by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is entirely untrue.
According to Mr. Nkansah, the project is being financed by the Government of Ghana.
The NEIP CEO further called out the NDC for deliberately spreading misinformation about government initiatives.
He suggested that these tactics are part of a broader strategy to deceive Ghanaians ahead of the 2024 elections.
“The 8-lane 30km Kasoa-Winneba Highway project is about 45% complete.”
“The project is FULLY funded by the Government of Ghana and not ECOWAS as being peddled by the NDC,” he posted.
