Abednego Asante Asiedu moves to raise funds for Owusukrom in Kwahu West

Life in rural Ghana can really be depressing. I always feel a deep pain in my heart when I hear stories about how residents of Owusukrom in the Kwahu West Municipality including pregnant women, newborns, children, and the elderly, have to trek for over 4 kilometers to access health care in the nearby Apradan community.
When any of the about 300 residents of Owusukrom is critically ill, relatives and supportive community members have to move the person to Nkawkaw, a big town about 23.3 kilometers, for medical care. This shouldn’t be happening in any civilized society. Why does access to healthcare have to be this difficult? It’s human life that’s at stake for crying out loud.
I woke up this morning thinking that we all don’t have to wait for the government to fix this problem too. There is something we can do about it.
I am announcing a new initiative today under the banner of the Abednego Foundation to construct a modest community-based health planning and services (CHPS) clinic to support the underprivileged residents of Owusukrom in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
I have been working on this for some time now and officials in the municipality tell me it will cost GH₵ 350,000 Cedis or 426,026 Norwegian Krone to build a modest CHPS compound, from which residents could access basic health care on daily basis. A land has been allocated, project designs are ready, and a contractor is on standby to begin construction ASAP. I am personally donating GH₵ 3,000 Cedis to this course and I call on all of you to join me in building a CHPS compound for the vulnerable residents of Owusukrom.
You can follow the link https://gofund.me/b4bece49 to donate or contact the project coordinator Confidence Nkansah in Ghana on (+233) 0543957427 on how you can support. No amount is too small. Mobile money is welcome on Confidence’s number, and I assure you that on weekly basis, I will account publicly for how much is accruing so we get this noble project going.
All of us here have been very vocal in putting those in authorities on their toes. This is an opportunity for us all to do something ourselves to make the life of someone else better.
I am passionately appealing to everyone to support me to build this clinic for Owusukrom community, a village I care so much about because I was raised there. Supporting this initiative will not only save the lives of innocent babies, it will help cultivate more ‘Abednegos’ who will grow and positively impact society.
My friends here, indigenes of Kwahu in Ghana and the diaspora, and all well-meaning people globally are encouraged to support this initiative.
Thank you all for your support.
