The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC is expected to spend the night behind bars after he was arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command.

This follows his detention by the Accra Regional Police Command after he was invited for questioning over coup plot allegations he made against former President John Dramani Mahama.

The invitation and subsequent arrest come days after the Police also arrested a lead convener of the #FixTheCountry Movement, Oliver Barker-Vormawor.

Mr Barker-Vormawor who is facing treason felony charges took to social media to threaten a coup if the controversial Electronic Transfer Levy Bill is passed.

In a press statement on Tuesday signed by the Director-General, Public Affairs, DCOP Kwesi Ofori, Abronye was invited “to assist the investigation, failure of which he will be arrested.”

Honouring the invite, he arrived at the Accra Regional Police Command Tuesday afternoon where his statement was taken.

A few minutes later, he was charged and put behind bars to appear before the court today Wednesday 16th February 2022.
