Speaking after submitting his forms at the Electoral Commission's office in Damongo, in the Savanna Region Mr Jinapor emphasized the importance of unity within the party to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and Member of Parliament for Damongo, Mr. Samuel Abu Jinapor, has officially filed his nomination forms to seek re-election as the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Damongo Constituency in the 2024 general elections.

Speaking after submitting his forms at the Electoral Commission’s office in Damongo, in the Savanna Region Mr Jinapor emphasized the importance of unity within the party to secure victory in the upcoming elections.

He highlighted the significant development projects undertaken in the Damongo Constituency, including advancements in agriculture, job creation, and infrastructure.

Mr. Jinapor announced a major road transformation in the Constituency within the next three months, facilitated by the arrival of equipment for the District Roads Improvement Project (DRIP).

He expressed confidence that these efforts would help retain the seat for the NPP and contribute to the victory of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the next President of Ghana.

For the second consecutive time, Mr . Jinapor went unopposed as the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for the Damongo Constituency, a notable achievement given the constituency’s history as a stronghold of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) since 1993.

In 2020, Mr Jinapor contested and won the Damongo seat for the first time against then-incumbent MP Adam Mutawakilu, who had represented the constituency since 2013.

The two will face off again in the December 2024 elections.
