The Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced the appointment of Hon. Adam Mutawakilu as its Acting Managing Director. His appointment, made by His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, is in accordance with Article 195(1) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana. He will serve in this capacity pending approval by the Board, in consultation with the Public Services Commission.
In his first address to the staff, Hon. Mutawakilu expressed gratitude for the opportunity to lead the organization. He emphasized his commitment to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve GWL’s objectives, ensuring the provision of quality, continuous, and uninterrupted water supply, particularly to underserved and unserved communities.
“I may not have an extensive background in water management, but I bring experience in energy, finance, and governance, and I am eager to learn from and work with the dedicated professionals at Ghana Water Limited,” he stated.
His appointment comes at a crucial time when Ghana Water Ltd is implementing strategies to enhance efficiency and expand access to potable water across the country. Industry experts and stakeholders have expressed optimism about his leadership, given his experience in public service and commitment to national development.
