Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, President Akufo-Addo and his Defence Minister, Dominic Nutitul are still pretending that nothing happened at Kpletso on 15th April, 2021 even after the death of two (2) of the victims of the heavily armed men in Ghana Army uniforms.
The Military High Command promised Ghanaians it was conducting an investigation into the Kpletso Shooting and Assault of unarmed journalists and citizens of La by men in Ghana Army uniforms on 15th April, 2021 but never made their findings public.
The shooting and assault occurred in the presence of DCOP Kwesi Ofori and other senior Police officers from the Regional Police Command, Cantonments Divisional Police Command and the La District Police Command, yet no investigation has been conducted by the Ghana Police Service nor a report made public despite a petition to the Inspector General of Police and several reminders…
The National Media Commission also refused to act on a petition to investigate the assault on several journalists at Kpletso despite their head and body injuries shown on television…
The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) despite their letter dated 16th July, 2021 stating that the Kpletso Shooting and Assault petition was receiving attention; nothing has since happened…
Shortly after the Kpletso Shooting and Assault incident, however, the Ejura Shooting Spree and Wa Beating Spree got immediate attention including the setting up of a Ministerial Committee of Enquiry and a high powered delegation of the President respectively.
In the case of the Beating Spree on the streets of Wa by mutineering soldiers, President Akufo-Addo immediately took a flight from La about 200meters from Kpletso together with his Minister of Defence, Minister of Interior, National Security Minister, Chief of Defence Staff and Inspector General of Police to Wa where they begged the Chiefs and People of WA to forgive the unruly Military personnel instead of having them arrested and prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.
Whiles the Chiefs and People of LA have been ignored by President Akufo-Addo and his Government; his Lands Minister claimed to have written a letter to the Defence Minister to stop the construction work at the disputed Kpletso land, yet the construction work is still underway…
It will be recalled that the La Mantse Nii Kpobi Tettey Tsuru II on 28th December, 2017 and again on 2018 petitioned President Akufo-Addo on the clandestine annexation of La Stool Lands and unlawful plotting and encroachment by the Ghana Armed Forces.
Instead an illegal Military Cemetery was established near the plush Chain Homes and a Statue planted on the other extreme so the large tract of prime Kpletso Land opposite the Esi Gbedemah fraudulently allocated Lands and adjoining the Airport Hills can effectively be annexed by the Military under 24hour guard by Military Landguards.
Stealing Land using Landguards in military uniforms has become fashionable since then; Dome Faase and more recently Shukura are clear examples.
Stealing of La Lands including those acquired for Civil Aviation purposes, fraudulent allocation of prime La Stool Lands acquired by the State coupled with the relocation of Judges displaced by the construction of the controversial Cathedral to Airport and Cantonments, both La Lands further encumbered the limited La Stool Lands…
The return of La Lands to the La Stool through the La Mantse in trust for the La Stool Subjects as was done per E. I. 432 in the instance of the recently returned Ashanti Region State Lands is an imperative.
La release most of its Lands to the State for national development and hosts nearly all embassies in Ghana; yet the La People and township has been cornered into a tight little space, without any adjoining Land for expansion.
Thus the agitations by the Chiefs and People for the return of the Kpletso and Cantonments for the expansion of the La township or the creation of a new La township to accommodate the increasing population and reduce the spate of communicable diseases in the heavily populated township, the latest being the spike in COVID-19 cases.
The people of La are resolved that not an inch of Kpletso land and Cantonments Civil Aviation Land be given to the thieves hiding behind the Military and the government and developing without proper acquisition by the State for the purpose…
President Akufo-Addo, Dominic Nutitul and Samuel Abu Jinapor must immediately take steps to resolve the stealing of La Stool Lands and return same to avoid yet another Kpletso situation in the future.
President Akufo-Addo and Dominic Nititul must immediately take steps to bring the soldiers who participated in the Kpletso Shooting and Assault together with their superior officers who deployed them to justice.
President Akufo-Addo and Dominic Nititul must lead a delegation to meet the families of all the victims of the Kpletso Shooting and Assault ahead of the funeral of Adjorkor.
May the souls of the Kpletso dead Eest in Peace and the injured receive speedy and a full recovery.
AMEN.
God Save Our Homeland Ghana and the Land of La from the Land Looters.
