Speaking at an orientation ceremony for 85 pioneering students in Ho, Rev. “This University looks beyond the unemployment problem in our country to identify an opportunity to groom more entrepreneurs-we seek to empower people with entrepreneural skills and envision becoming a world-class recognized private research and entrepreneural University that provides higher educational solutions by identifying opportunities out of challenges,” the rector noted.

“We intend to achieve this vision by providing relevant business, technical and professional education to our students to equip and empower them with the requisite skills for economic transformation and growth,” he stated.

Rev. Charis Adonai said management of the University was working to introduce courses from the Institute of Chartered accountants – Ghana and Chartered Institute of Marketing – UK and has a “womanpreneur” challenge to help develop innovative women entrepreneurs.

He said the University currently had about 30 teaching and non-teaching staff as it had become the latest employment avenue for young graduates in it’s catchment area.

Rev. Charis Adonai said a permanent campus for the University was under development at the Adonai Estates Airport Golf City enclave in Ho with a scholarship scheme for students from the University’s host communities.

Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Divine Bosso, lauded the founders of the University for their resolve to deepen access to tertiary education and to promote entrepreneural advancement, adding that the coming on stream of Adonai University was another long jump for tertiary education in the country especially the Volta region.
