Presidential Advisor Amoako Tuffuor dies of Covid-19

Presidential Advisor and founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Amoaku Tuffour has died.

The initiator and implementer of THE Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) is reported to have died today after battling the deadly CORONAVIRUS.

Dr Tuffour adds to the list of high profile personalities who have recently died of Covid. The deadly coronavirus has reportedly claimed the lives of as many as ten Ghanaians over the weekend including that of a Teacher at the Ghana International School. Dora Baah is reported to have died over the weekend according to school authorities in a message to their community.

Others include former National Security Coordinator, Joshua Kyeremeh and a few others who have reportedly succumbed to the disease.

Management of the Nyaho Clinic has taken a decision to refer all Non-Covid cases to other hospitals in a bid to contain the rising cases of  Covid patients currently being reported to the hospital.  In a Memo titled ‘Update on Clinical Operations’ and copied to all directors on Monday, January 18, the Medical Director of the facility said the hospital has had to reactivate its business continuity in view of the rising cases in covid-19. The situation has led to acute shortages of beds for the treatment of Covid-19 patients.
