A former Minister of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Lawyer Sarah Adwoa Safo brought joy to 2,000 orphans and street children through her heartwarming Christmas celebration.
During the event, Lawyer Adwoa Safo distributed food, toys, and educational materials, including reading books, pens, and pencils, to the children, underscoring the importance she attaches to education, a value she has championed throughout her career.
The celebration was organized under the Adwoa Safo Foundation, which has been supporting the less privileged through regular orphanage donations.
Notably, the Foundation holds an annual Christmas party for the underprivileged children every December 28, which coincidentally marks Lawyer Adwoa Safo’s birthday.
The event offers children a chance to experience the joy and warmth of the festive season, often inaccessible to them due to their circumstances.
This year’s event was held at the University of Nuclear and Allied Sciences in Accra.
As she reflected on her commitment to social protection, Lawyer Adwoa Safo emphasized the need for continued support for the marginalized in society.
“Issues of social protection are not very well developed in our country. There is a need for an effective policy framework to support the weak and marginalized in society. This is an area I am deeply passionate about”, she told reporters on the sidelines of the event.
Lawyer Adwoa Safo’s dedication to social protection and philanthropy is inspired by her father, Apostle Kwadwo Safo, who is renowned for his charitable work.
Since 2019, Lawyer Adwoa Safo and her Foundation have consistently shown kindness, earning public admiration for their philanthropic activities.
