Chairman of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Seth Panwum,, has demanded the immediate dismissal of Ghana’s head coach Otto Addo following the national team’s disappointing 2-1 defeat to Niger at the Accra Sports Stadium.
This loss marks Ghana’s first at home in 16 years and highlights a larger issue: the team’s failure to qualify for next year’s AFCON tournament.
In remarks made to Angel FM, Panwum stated, “Otto Addo must be sacked because he was given a performance contract and he has failed to perform.”
This defeat leaves Ghana with a historically poor record, finishing last in Group F with only three points, and completing the AFCON qualifying series without a single win.
The Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council is scheduled to review the team’s performance on Wednesday, although there are no indications that a decision on Addo’s future will be reached at that time.
