The head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo has handed a late call-up to midfielder Forson Amankwah for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

A statement issued by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Monday, September 3, 2024, confirmed, “Forson Amamkwah will join the Black Stars for the forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger after receiving a late call-up.”

Authorities have confidence that the 21-year-old is a good addition to the team seeing his impressive start at his new club where he has assisted twice in six appearances.

Amankwaah has to his credit two caps for Ghana after featuring against Nigeria and Uganda in March.

Before his move to Norwich City, he played at Red Bull Salzburg.

Ghana will host Angola at the Baba Yara sports stadium on Thursday, September 5, before travelling to Morocco to face Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024.

Last week, Otto Addo named 23 players for the games, however, Alexander Djiku was ruled out after he sustained a Grade One strain in the front part of his right thigh during a clash between Fenerbahce and Alanyaspor.

In his place, Otto Addo called FC Basel’s Jonas Adjetey Adjei.
