According to a flyer shared on social media by the unsuccessful Guinness World Record breaker Afua Asantewaa Aduonum, she will be enstooled as Efiadahemaa, to wit, ‘Friday Queen’ this Saturday.
The traditional event will be conducted by the Breman Essiam Traditional Council in the Central Region led by the Paramount Chief, Odeefuo Afankwa III and Paramount Queen, Nana Efua Esiwaa II.
It will take place at the forecourt of the Palace of the Chief, the flyer announced.
Inviting the public to join her on the set date, Afua said, “When the time is right, everything is perfect!!!!! I remember calling myself EFIADAHEMAA publicly the past few years and months until last December when my name changed to AFUA ASANTEWAA SINGATHON. Little did I know this prestigious moment will come. Ladies and gentlemen, you are cordially invited.”
Afua’s bold step began on December 24 and ended on December 28, after singing Ghanaian songs for an impressive and straight 126 hours 53 minutes in the quest to break India’s Sunil Waghmare’s record of 105 hours in 2012.
Her feat which has won her the admiration of Ghanaians across the country and beyond, has also given her international recognition even before her attempt was reviewed by Guinness.
In a reply in February to enquiries about the outcome of the attempt, GWR disclosed that it was unsuccessful.
