President of IMANI Ghana, Franklin Cudjoe, has stirred controversy with his scathing assessment of the current state of affairs in Ghana under the leadership of President Nana Akufo-Addo.
In an impassioned social media post, Cudjoe likened the country’s situation to the fiery depths of hell, denouncing Akufo-Addo’s policies and decisions. Cudjoe, known for his libertarian views, declared that he would no longer consider Akufo-Addo a friend until an apology is issued for what he perceives as leading Ghana into turmoil.
“We can be friends again when I read your memoir apologizing for taking us on a bumpy ride to hell’s kitchen,” wrote Cudjoe in his post. The IMANI Ghana president cited various concerns, including economic mismanagement, environmental degradation, corrupt practices, and questionable procurement deals, as reasons for his disillusionment with Akufo-Addo’s administration.
He criticized the president for neglecting his responsibilities and allowing detrimental actions to occur under his watch. Expressing disappointment in Akufo-Addo’s leadership, Cudjoe predicted that the president’s legacy would be marred by fiscal irresponsibility and excessive indebtedness.
He condemned the government’s handling of key issues such as the Aker oil deal, Trade Fair Center mismanagement, and the controversial National Cathedral project.
Despite acknowledging Akufo-Addo’s past contributions to freedom of expression, Cudjoe lamented the perceived failures and shortcomings of his presidency, warning that history would judge him harshly.
