Former Trade Minister, Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has made a clarion call on all Ghanaians who have newly attained the voting age, to avail themselves of ongoing registration for new voters so that they can vote oiut the Akufo-Addo Bawumia government.
In a post on social media platform, Facebook, Mr. Kyerematen said the new voters have the power to change Ghana but that to do so, they first have to get the voters ID card.
“You have the power to change Ghana now. A vote for Alan is a Vote for Change! Together we will win and Ghana will rise again”, he said.
A limited registration for first-time voters is to run from 7th – 27th May 2024.
Also, an exercise for the replacement of lost ID cards takes place on 30th May.
The Electoral Commission is conducting the exercise across the country targeting first time voters.
According to the EC, it aims to register approximately 623,000 new voters,.
“The registration will be from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. And that gives us the figure of 623,000 that we have put there. That is not to say that we cannot go beyond that,” explained Jean Mensah.
