The National Teaching Council has set September 23 as a commencement date for the 2024 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE) 3.
It will end on September 25, 2024.
The exam will enable qualified teachers to acquire a professional licence after sitting for General Professional Knowledge paper, Grade-level Specialism Pedagogy paper, and Multiple Subjects Content or Single Subject Content Knowledge.
The registration for the exam which will be sat by only holders of Bachelor of Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Education is ongoing and will end on September 5, 2024.
“Any holder of Bachelor of Education or Post Graduate Diploma in Education and has a referral in the traditional GTLE (Essential Professional Skills, Literacy and Numeracy) and wishes to write 2024 GTLE 3 must start the process afresh. However, any diplomat who has referrals in the traditional GTLE and wishes to write GTLE in 2024 and beyond must first obtain a degree,” the NLC said in a notice.
Pre-registration Process
Prospective candidates are directed to visit https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh to check their status to determine whether their data have been uploaded onto the portal by your training institution before they start the registration process.
If a candidate’s details have been uploaded, he/she shall be indexed before registering for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination at a cost of GH⍧50.00. the payment can be made at any Prudential Bank Ltd or GCB Bank PLC branches nationwide or through mobile money payment through the short code *772*51# for Prudential Bank Ltd or *422*151# for GCB Bank PLC across all networks by using your college or university index number.
Candidates will then receive a message on their phone which contains your name, indexing number and further instructions for verification on https://indexing.ntc.gov.gh. Persons who go through the in-banking payment, can use your transaction number from the bank receipt to log in to verify your details and register.
Registration Process
Registration fee stands at GH⍧450.00 for the three papers for fresh candidate, GHȻ 150.00 for Candidates re-sitting a paper, GHȻ 210.00 for candidates re-sitting two (2) papers and GHȻ 385.00 for candidates re-sitting all three (3) papers.
The payment can be made at any Prudential Bank Ltd or GCB Bank PLC branch nationwide or through mobile money payment through the short code *772*51# for Prudential Bank Ltd or *422*151# for GCB Bank PLC.
Where payment is made at the bank, candidates must remember to take their Pin and Serial Number from the bank with which they will log on to exams.ntc.gov.gh to fill in all the fields.
They are also to upload their passport-size photograph of less than 250kb with a white background.
