Amidu’s resignation is no news- Charles Owusu

A staunch member of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and a social commentator, Charles Owusu has said the resignation of Martin Amidu as Special Prosecutor is nothing worthy for discussion.

According to him, Martin Amidu realised his inability to continue his work as a Special Prosecutor, hence the decision to resign.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosi sen on Thursday, he said: ” What will his resignation do to the country”? he quizzed. “It will not change anything about Ghana. What I have realised is that Martin Amidu felt he can’t do the work, hence, he decided to take the centre stage of discussion because Ghana is going into an election. But I want to tell you that this can never change anything in the upcoming election.”

According to Charles Owusu, there are more pressing issues for us to be discussing as Ghanaians as we prepared towards the upcoming election than the resignation of the special prosecutor.

He added that the special prosecutor decided to resign at this last our to the election just to allow a certain political party.

Martin Amidu resigns from his position as a special prosecutor on the 16th November 2020, stating that, government interference in his operation is what has informed his resignation.
