Renowned gospel singer and writer, Nana Osei who is popularly known as Nacee has revealed how former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan supported him with $8,000 for his concert in 2015.
According to the award-winning producer, his plans of putting up a show eight years ago suffered setbacks due to finances but Gyan as part of his philanthropic gestures came through with the unexpected amount which aided the success of the concert
“In 2015, I was organising a concert and was in desperate need of money as things became tough for me,” Nacee told Kofi TV in an interview.
“Asamoah Gyan gave me $8,000 at that time. In fact, I need an opportunity to meet him and say thank you,” he added.
The former Udinese forward expressed his delight following Nacee’s thanksgiving in an Instagram post.
He captioned the video of the interview with, “Not everybody will come back and say thank you.”
Meanwhile, Asamoah Gyan last appeared for the Black Stars in the Africa Cup of Nations knockout round against Tunisia in 2019. The 36-year-old has been out of action since 2021 when he left Ghana Premier League club Legon Cities.
Gyan is the country’s all-time leading scorer, with 51 goals in 109 games. The outstanding striker is also Africa’s all-time leading scorer at the World Cup, with six goals.
