Attorney General Godfred Dame Honored as Best Performing Minister for 2021

The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, has been recognized as the Best Minister for the year 2021 by FAKS Investigative Services – a research and private investigation firm at a short ceremony in Accra.

According to the management of FAKS Investigative Services, Godfred Dame performed exceptionally well in the year under review with 92 points to win the best Minister of the year 2021. They maintained that, Lawyer Dame’s exceptional leadership during the brouhaha pertaining to the admission of the 499 students into the Ghana School of law earned him a lot of points from the public in a survey conducted. This survey was the 10th edition since FAKS started this project in 2012.

“Together with me and my team we decided to conduct a survey to determine the performance of sector ministers and their deputies, regional ministers and MP’s… last year one of the editions that we did, the honorable minister Godfred Dame became of the top best ministers,” said Mr. Fred Yaw Sarpong, who is the CEO of FAKS Investigative Services.

Mr. Sarpong also indicated that, the performance of the minister in relation to the issues of the admission of the 499 law students into the Ghana School of law has gotten him a lot of applauds among the respondents of the survey.

Lawyer Dame who was thrilled by the award, paid a glowing tribute to the dedicated and hardworking staffs at the ministry who he said have contributed greatly to him coming up tops. He further explained that on the issues of the 499 candidates he tried to find the balance between the issues raised by the General Legal Council (GLC) and the legitimate demand of the 499 candidates for fairness. He also expounds that, they also wrote to parliament to draw attention to their unconstitutional conduct regarding their directive to the General Legal Council and that was on the bases of fairness.

Minister Godfred Yeboah Dame said whatever he does in public service is consistent with his vow and zealousness and the industry he practices in private life.

“I have to balance the interest of the General Legal Council against the legitimate demands of the candidates of the examinations and I thought that in the spirit of fairness there was a need for a second look at the situation,” he noted.

The renowned lawyer also eulogized President Akufo-Addo for his impact on the various works he has done over the period as the principal legal advisor to the government.

“This office is a strong anchor for whatever objectives the President has set for himself in terms of standing in the gap for accountability,” he concluded.
