Sensational Ghanaian female broadcast journalist, Afia Kwarteng Asamani, popularly known on air as ‘Authentic Mama’ has left the employment of Rainbow Radio International (RRI) where she worked for over three years as a newscaster and parliamentary correspondent.
Ghananewsonline.com.gh has reliably gathered that the beautiful damsel has now pitched camp with the Avenor junction based Atinka Media Village (AMV) where she is expected to anchor the major news of Atinka FM starting Sunday December 15,2019.
‘Authentic Mama’ brings to her new job her vast experience spanning Eight years as a local news anchor and a parliamentary news hound.
Before moving to work with RRI, Afia had worked with Hot FM and Prime FM. She also had a stint with Vision1 FM in Accra.
Over the past Eight years that she has practiced as a journalist she has gathered some good experience in political reporting, election coverage and parliamentary news reporting as well as general news casting.
She took to her Facebook page on Saturday to announce her new move while asking her fans to pray for her to succeed in her new place of work where she considers the most ideal place to work in the media circles in Ghana right now.
She told ghananewsonline.com.gh in a a follow up interview on Saturday evening that she decided to move to Atinka Media Village because she sees there as one of the fastest growing media houses in Ghana now in terms of content and reach, as such, she’ll like to move and grow with them.
“Truth be told, Atinka is growing at a very fast pace and I believe getting on board with my experience will help the company to fly even higher and in the right direction.
Subsequently, she says her vision is to bring professionalism into local news casting for the benefit of the people.
Afia holds a degree in public relations from Ghana’s premier journalism training institution – the Ghana Institute of Journalism (GIJ).
She is married with two children.
