The Office of the Vice President has begun investigations into circumstances that led to the Director of Administration, James Keck Osei, being arrested by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) and arraigned before court.
The investigations, initiated by the Chief Director of the Office of the Vice President, is in accordance with civil service procedures, rules and regulations.
“And where a breach is established in respect of Civil Service rules and regulations, the service shall apply the necessary sanctions,” a statement issued by the Secretary to the Vice President, Augustine Blay, on Tuesday, February 14 said.
It expressed satisfaction with the action of the OSP to investigate the matter.
The accused, Mr Keck Osei, is said to have written a letter to the Commissioner General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), seeking assistance to clear 15 containers of rice.

But GRA’s boss did not comply and indicated in a reply that there was another claimant to the consignment.
Upon receipt of the reply, Mr Keck Osei wrote back on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 to withdraw his earlier letter of Wednesday, April 27, 2022.
“In this second letter, Mr Osei stated that the Commissioner should cancel any prior action taken based on his previous letter.”
In September, he was invited by the OSP for interrogation over rice importation.
He was granted bail on Monday and expected to reappear in Monday, March 13.
