Stonebwoy met with Berla Mundi during the Grammy weekend in Los Angeles, where the dancehall act spoke about his famous interview with New York’s Breakfast Club radio show.
Stonebowy, who has recently bagged some envious international interviews with new popularity from international audiences, revealed the magic formula to rising above the local confines.
“I have been working over the past few years, ready for all opportunities. When you are prepared, when any opportunity comes, you will overfit. And that’s just the secret. So continue to work when they are not watching, and by the time they turn an eye on you will be overqualified.”
Stonebwoy, being the first Ghanaian to appear on the Breakfast Club in person and to be hosted by Charlamagne Tha God, says it took years of preparation behind the scenes.
He added that Ghanaian musicians need to work together to push the brand. He pointed out that some people may take the lead in the business, but that doesn’t mean there is no space for others.
“We need to understand that we are all one. And therefore some people have to take the lead, and there’s a long queue in the back. So we just have to be consistent with whatever we do.”
Stonebwoy’s appearance at the Breakfast Club wasn’t the highlight of the week, as the Therapy hitmaker was seen encountering big names in the music industry at the Grammys, especially his engagement with Taylor Swift and Harvey Mason jr.
