The Management of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), has asked the general public, especially, consumers in and around the Tema area to bear with the company as their engineers work to rectify the current interruption of water supply in that area due to serious leakages detected along the main 42 inch transmission pipe-line from the Kpong treatment Plant to the Tema Booster Station, and along the motor-way to the okponglo Booster Station.
As a result, most areas in the Eastern part of Accra are experiencing low pressures and intermittent flow of water at the tap.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the Communication Director of the company, Stanley Mantey, to inform consumers of their plans to fix the problem as soon as possible.
The statement pointed out the affected areas which include Tema Industrial area, Tema Harbour, Communities in Tema, Tema General Hospital, Sakumono, Batsonaa, Spintex, Coca Cola area, Adjiringano and parts of East Legon surrounding Communities.
“Management of GWCL therefore wishes to inform members of the general public as well as institutions or organisations within the affected areas to bear with the situation, while Engineers work around the clock to rectify the situation” the statement added.
The management of the company therefore assured the general public, Institutions and Organizations of their readiness to rectify the situation.
