Bernard Nii Anyaa Brown Tours District Health Insurance Offices

Greater Accra Regional Director of National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Mr. Bernard Nii Anyaa Brown has paid a working visit to the offices scheme in Ablekuma District and the Ga Central District in Sowutuom.

The objective of the move is to enable Anyaa Brown to observe the effectiveness and efficiency in the compliance to COVID-19 protocols and for firsthand information on the usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) by the staff in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The coronavirus disease COVID-19 has claimed thousands of lives across the world, challenging governments to introduce pragmatic measures to offer relief to their citizens to curb the spread.

Briefing the media shortly after the tour, the Mr. Anyaa Brown expressed satisfaction and at what he has observed. He commended the management, staff and clients of the area for efficiently complying with the laid down safety measures by wearing face masks, washing their hands under running water and applying alcohol based hand sanitizer while exhibiting social distancing among themselves.

He disclosed that government is working fervently to ensure that PPE are adequately supplied to the needed health institutions across the regions. He urged them not to hesitate to ask for more when they are in short supply.

He advised the clients and other members of the public to compulsorily adhere to the safety protocols by washing as it is the only sure way to stay safe in these times in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

District Manageress of the Ga Central National Insurance Authority (Sowutuom), Mrs. Margarita Taylor Plunge urged clients to always put on face mask and comply with the basic rules in relation to the fight against the pandemic.

Miss Diana Agyeman, a client was grateful to the management of the District Health Insurance Authority for fast tracking the processing of the health insurance cards in record time, and providing PPE for staff and clients.
