Black Stars one place up in FIFA Rankings

Black Stars will reach for the final qualifying round in the qualifiers if they win against Ethiopia away and South Africa at home in November.

Ghana national football team, Black Stars have moved up one place in the latest Fifa World Rankings.

Black Stars gained a few points to move from position 53 to 52 in September rankings released on Thursday.

They however remain seventh in Africa.

Ghana in September began their World Cup qualifiers and were involved in two games. They beat Ethiopia 1-0 in Cape Coast but lost by the same scoreline against South Africa in Johannesburg.

The South Africa defeat led to changes in the technical department as Charles Akonnor was sacked and Serbian Milovan Rajevac was re-appointed as head coach.

Rajevac’s second reign began this month, and in impressive fashion, as Black Stars secured back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe in the qualifiers.
