The Global Policy Forum and Working Group meetings organised by the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and co-hosted by Banco Central de El Salvador was held in San Salvador, El Salvador from August 31 to September 5, 2024.
During the forum, two distinguished directors from the Bank of Ghana were recognised for their exceptional leadership and contributions to advancing global financial inclusion.
Dr. Settor Amediku, Director of the Regional Branch Coordinating Office, was awarded the AFI Data Technical Leadership Award, emerging as the top finalist from a group of five. This prestigious award celebrates his instrumental efforts in enhancing the digital payment infrastructure and increasing access to financial services across Ghana.
Similarly, Mr. Kwame Oppong, Director of the FinTech and Innovation Office, received the Digital Financial Services Technical Leadership Award, also as the overall winner among five finalists. His recognition highlights his pivotal role in advancing digital financial services in Ghana.
These awards underscore the Bank of Ghana’s continued commitment to excellence in financial inclusion, and the remarkable achievements of its directors reflect the institution’s vision to lead the way in shaping a more inclusive financial landscape for the nation and the continent.
