B&P Associates, a leading Ghanaian law firm, recently undertook a number of activities in Accra to mark its 10th anniversary. The firm, which is renowned for being at the fore of a new generation of dynamic law firms, is themed its celebrations around impact and empowerment.
The celebrations began with a donation to the National Centre for Radiotherapy at Korle-Bu, followed by a short but moving Thanksgiving church service, and ended with a soiree at the firm’s offices in Cantonments.
B&P Associates has built a niche and is renowned as one of the leading corporate and commercial law specialists in Ghana. The firm boasts an array of vibrant, often dual-qualified lawyers, and its principal is a certified insolvency practitioner and an insolvency consultant to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group.
Speaking to the media on the sidelines of the soiree, Managing Partner of B&P Mrs. Adelaide Benneh Prempeh said: “We are proud to celebrate this milestone, which is a celebration of our resilience, our commitment to empowerment, and more importantly, gratitude to our clients for trusting us with their needs. B&P believes law firms in Ghana are critical in driving economic growth, and the firm’s strategy is to develop deep capacity and attract top talent to achieve this.”
B&P leads the way in the growing number of law firms prioritising good citizenship and corporate social responsibility. The firm has a track record of supporting several social causes, including its recent donation to the National Centre for Radiotherapy.
Commenting on this, Christian Odame, a legal associate at the firm, said: “The theme of our celebrations outlines our core value systems that drive our corporate social responsibility (CSR). We believe very much in Ubuntu and are clear that impact and empowerment are not only a function of commercial success but also how we are able to impact our wider communities and networks.’
Several clients of the firm touted the firm’s professionalism, innovation, and value delivery and were fulsome in their congratulations to the firm on their anniversary. A senior business executive whose company retains the firm said: “What we find refreshing about B&P is their exposure, forward-thinking approach, and business-minded posture. As a Ghanaian firm looking to expand into the region, we are impressed with the firm’s drive to ensure that they are up to date with regional developments such as the Africa Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) and Pan African Payment and Settlement System (PAPSS) and are at the forefront of how these initiatives can be leveraged for Ghanaian firms.”
In her speech to close the soiree, Mrs. Benneh Prempeh noted her faith as a key anchor in the firm’s journey. She also acknowledged the support of her husband and family, as well as numerous family and friends who have supported the B&Ps growth. She affirmed the firm’s determination to lead the way in being part of efforts to scale up and grow the Ghanaian legal industry, working to ensure that young and upcoming lawyers are empowered and have the right capacity to position Ghana as the hub for legal services in Africa.
The firm intends to roll out a number of lectures, moot courts, and other client appreciation activities during its anniversary year.
