A 38-year-old mason has allegedly hanged himself to death at Ajumako Entumbil in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.
Report gathered by Onua news revealed that, the victim,Yaw Manu, moments before the incident was in his room doing praises and prayers, something unusual of him.
Ekua Adwoa, mother of the deceased who spoke to Onua News noted that she was sleeping when she heard the deceased doing praises and worship, after which his voice went dead.
The mother noted that the sister of the deceased was going for her charger which was in the brother’s room but realised the door had been locked.
After failing to get a response for several knocks on the door, they forced their way in by breaking the locks with sticks to find him hanging on a ceiling fan.
The mother disclosed that the 38-year-old used a sponge to hang himself.
She added that her son was fit and cannot tell what caused him to allegedly take his life.
An eyewitness tells Onua News’ Nana Yaw Asare that the deceased, throughout Monday, shared some coins to his children before taking his life.
He left behind five children, with the elderly among those that just wrote the just ended Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The relatives are appealing to the general public to support the children.
Meanwhile, the case has been reported to the Ajumako District Police Command for investigation whilst the body has been conveyed to the mortuary for autopsy and preservation.
