Calls for the Sacking of Ken Ofori Atta: NPP calls for calm

National leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has asked all stakeholders to remain calm even in the midst of stringent calls by some Members of Parliament (MPs) from the Majority Group for the removal of Ken Ofori-Atta from office as the finance minister.

At a press conference in Parliament House on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 the MPs insisted that for the removal must be swift and immediate. The want the Minister to go alongside the minister of state at the finance ministry, Charles Adu Boahen.

A press release signed by the party’s national chairman Stephen Ayesu Ntim, says “in view of the above development, the leadership of the party is currently engaging government as well as the parliamentary group and urges all stakeholders to remain calm as it seeks an amicable resolution of the impasse.”

It added that “the leadership of the party herein reiterates it’s commitment to at all times engage government on issues of utmost interest and concern to the party, government and the citizenry.”
