The ministry of business development has organized a program dubbed ‘Campus business pitch’ at Tamale Technical University in the Northern region.
Campus business pitch NorthernWebGh.com understands is an initiative of the Ministry of Business Development to unearth the entrepreneurial potential of students in the country under the leadership of the sector minister, Hon Mohammed Awal.
Under this program, Students will be encouraged to pitch their business ideas before a panel of judges for the best ideas to be supported through capacity building and funding.
Abigail Swad Laryea Deputy C.E.O of National Entrepreneurship and innovation plan (NEIP), at the event urged the students to get involved in the Voluntary SEI membership clubs which meet regularly to discuss business Concepts on and off-campus.
She said, students, are exposed to business concepts such as planning, branding, pitching, risk, marketing and a whole lot.
According to her, the voluntary membership helps to develop an entrepreneurial mindset, and enhance their ability to become business owners.
Mr. Yussif Yakubu Northern Region sector Coordinator of NEIP also stated that through SEI Students are able to develop products and services even whilst in school, putting them in the position to create jobs and wealth for themselves and others.
The program was graced by lecturers, Dean of the various faculties, and students.
