Change of Command at the Ghana Customs Service

At the Commissioner’s Pull-Out Ceremony held at the Customs Service headquarters in Accra, the newly appointed Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the President for entrusting him with this important responsibility.

His Excellency President John Dramani Mahama, in line with his prerogative, has appointed Brigadier General Glover Annan Ashong as the new Commissioner of the Ghana Customs Service.

Brig. Gen. Ashong, a highly respected figure within the Ghana Army, is expected to bring a fresh perspective and renewed energy to the Customs Division.

At the Commissioner’s Pull-Out Ceremony held at the Customs Service headquarters in Accra, the newly appointed Commissioner expressed his gratitude to the President for entrusting him with this important responsibility.

During his acceptance speech, Brig. Gen. Ashong stated, “This appointment presents an opportunity and a duty for me to work alongside the men and women of the Customs Division to support the Commissioner-General in mobilizing revenue for national development.”

He further assured the President, the Minister for Finance, and all Ghanaians of his commitment to building upon the achievements of his predecessors and elevating the Customs Division to greater heights.

“I take this opportunity to extend my appreciation to my brother and friend, Brig. Gen. Zibrim Bawah Ayorrogo, for his outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions to the growth of the Customs Division. The structures you have put in place will serve as a strong foundation for me moving forward,” he added.
