A prominent Ghanaian journalist and businessman, Elvis Asiedu Antwi has taken a swipe at Nana Kwame Bediako, aliases Cheddar and Freedom Jacob Caesar, who claimed to be the face behind “The Mask” and intends to operate a Pan Africanist Movement and not a Political Party.
According to Elvis Asiedu Antwi, who is also the CEO of www.campaigneronline.com, Cheddar and his group have nothing better in their sleeves but deceit.
He believes that claims by Cheddar that he is a Pan Africanist and is pursuing an agenda of liberating Africa is a total falsehood but an agenda to destabilize the nation by his presidential ambition which he kept away from the people of Ghana because of the ill motive behind it.
Cheddar had claimed that his movement, the new force, had nothing to do with an ambition of seeking the presidential office but rather an agenda to liberate Africa.
Elvis Asiedu Antwi contends that Cheddar lacks a vision for Africa, arguing that engaging individuals with questionable backgrounds, such as Shalimar Abbiusi, a 30-year-old Belgian national, as his spokesperson, is indicative of this absence of vision.
According to sources close to Cheddar, his ambition was to run for office during the December 7 general election. The source disclosed that the claim of not being in politics was false, as he was hoping to use the Convention to launch his presidential campaign.
Shalimar Abbiusi was deported from Ghana for allegedly obtaining a permit through fraud. She was accused of violating section 52 (1) (i) of the Immigration Act 2000 (Act 573), specifically “Obtaining for Yourself a Student Permit by False Declaration.”
The charge against her by the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) asserted that Abbiusi, with the intent to evade legal requirements, falsely declared herself a student of the Ghana Christian University College on or before September 23, 2023, in the Greater Accra Region.
Elvis Asiedu Antwi believes that the Pan-African movement which Cheddar claims to be spearheading should have carried the African youth along, but it seems he (Cheddar) rather surrounded himself with foreigners whose intentions are questionable.
This, according to Elvis Antwi sparks the debate of “Dishonesty” in the claims of Cheddar and his Group.
Nana Kwame Bediako had announced that he is the masked face on many billboards dotted all over the country in the name of the New Force Movement.
After the government revoked the permit for a planned public lecture event dubbed “The Convention 2024,” organised by the New Africa Foundation, Nana Kwame Bediako said: “I am nothing to be scared of”, adding: “I came to you as your salvation. I don’t invest in myself alone. I am investing in you”.
Elvis Asiedu Antwi also averred that there is nothing wrong with Cheddar gathering great minds and voices to Ghana to speak and educate the people, especially the youth, but the deceit that came with it was condemnable.
He advised Cheddar to behave as the Ghanaian and a true Pan-Africanist that he claims he is and does the right thing.
