COP27: CCLG-Africa hosts Climate Communication Forum in Egypt 

The forum identified a number of ways and strategic planning tools in communicating climate change at the local level, among others. 

 

Climate Communications and Local Governance-Africa (CCLG-Africa) – a civil society group specialized in communicating issues around climate change on the African continent, has championed the organization of a communication forum for journalists at the on-going climate change conference, dubbed, COP27, in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt.

The forum which brought together journalists and media practitioners from selected African countries enabled climate communicators especially to share their experiences and challenges in reporting on issues of the environmental in their respective countries.

The forum also identified a number of ways and strategic planning tools in communicating climate change at the local level, among others.

The forum brought to the fore the gap in communicating climate change. Panellists were drawn from Malawi, Kenya, Nigeria, Zambia, Brazil and the communication officer from the Climate Vulnerable Forum.

President of CCLG-Africa, Kofi Don-Agor, called on communicators on climate change especially journalists to support the idea of bringing all communicators in Africa together.

Ghana was highly praised for organizing, coordinating and showing the pathway for connecting all communicators on climate change communications.
