Ghana’s Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu, is expected to brief Parliament on the country’s preparedness against the deadly Coronavirus which is inching closer following reports that the virus has been recorded in neighboring Nigeria
Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, Osei-Kyei Mensah-Bonsu made this known on the Floor of Parliament on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, during his contribution on the debate on the President’s State of the Nation’s Address 2020 delivered to Parliament by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
According to the Majority Leader, the Health Minister would apprise the House about all the nagging issues concerning the anxiety being expressed by Ghanaians about the nation’s readings in case of a beak out of the disease as well as precautionary measures being put in place.
He also mentioned that the Minister will speak to the government’s decision whether Ghanaian nationals as well as students stranded in the epic center of the Coronavirus – Wuhan, China should be returned or not.
For the meantime, the Ghana Health Authorities have assured the nation that some 30 suspected cases of the virus in the country have all tested negative.
