Covid-19: MP for Upper West Akim donates hygienic items to Constituents

Member of Parliament (MP) for the Upper West Akim, Derek Ohene Bekoe Asifu, has donated some hygienic items to communities in the constituency to prevent the spread of the deadly Coronavirus.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) outspoken MP presented items such as Veronica burkets, hand sanitizers, soaps, Paper tisues, rubber bowls and table stands to most of the communities.

Presenting the assorted items to the chiefs and people of Kwasi Nyarko Near Adeiso in the Eastern Region, Ohene Bekoe told the gathering that, even though, the area has not recorded any case of covid-19, he as the representative of the people has bought the items for the community to enable them practice safe hand washing exercises to avoid contracting the virus.

He further encouraged the people to observe the laid down proceedures by the World Health Organization (WHO).

Mr Ohene Bekoe further educated the people on mass testing by some section of the public. He informed the gathering of advance testing of people who may have gotten in contact with any affected and quarantine persons.

Receiving the items, the chief, Kwasi Nyarko Nana Opoku Afi Nyarko told his people to take the hand washing exercise serious because if one contract the virus he or she can spread it to his family and the larger community, therefore it’s in the right direction for the donation of the items to the community.

Beneficiary communities include Krodua, Akyem-Bremang Kwao-Baah, Nyarnoa Abam krom.

Other communities are Maame Dede, Maame Dede Junction, Asuaba, Danso, Armah krom , Ator krom, Mepom Town, Mepom Health Center and Takorase.
