Covid-19: Traders and Hawkers at Makola Market educated

Traders and hawkers at the Makola Market in Accra were taken by surprise when ActionPlus Foundation paid them a visit recently to educate them on how to help contain the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Foundation, Miss. Grace Afi Hadzor, who led the team, their objective is to help sensitize the traders on the need to avoid coming into contact with the virus which has claimed some lives in this country.

“The only way we can win the fight against Covid-19 is to strictly observe the health protocols outlined by the World Health Organization (WHO) and adopted by the government of Ghana including the observation of social distancing, wearing of nose mask, sanitizing our hands frequently and washing our hands with soap under running water”.

She cautioned the traders to always adhere to the protocols, insisting that putting the nose mask on the chick should not be encouraged. She also encouraged the frequent use of hand sanitizers because of the nature of their job as the exchange of money could be a factor in contracting the deadly disease.
