A Sub-Editor of the Daily Guide newspaper Thomas Fosu Jnr, who was formerly their parliamentary correspondent has died. He was reported dead on the evening of Thursday August 26, 2021 hours after returning from the National Headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) where he covered a Press Conference addressed by the General Secretary John Boadu.
A sources within the editorial staff of the newspaper told ghananewsonline.com.gh that Tommy or Uncle Tom as he was fondly called by many people, gave up the ghost at about 8:15pm at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital after he complained of dizziness at about 7:30 pm and was rushed there by his colleague in the office.
According our source the deceased was at work on Thursday and attended a press conference addressed by the NPP’s John Boadu.
“While working on a news story from the NPP press Conference, Thomas started complaining of some weaknesses within his body, this was around 5:30 pm,” we were told.
When the situation persisted after a while his colleagues rushed him to the Ridge Hospital, however, he was pronounced dead minutes on arrival.
“As at 5:30 pm, Tommy was in the office writing a news story. He did not show sign of illness but I understand around 7-8 pm, he started showing signs of illness and a colleague rushed him to the Ridge Hospital. We later get information from our Boss that Tommy is dead. I was shocked,” our source indicated.
The body body of the late Thomas Fosu Jnr is currently in the morgue at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
