Daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Blue Ivy to feature in Upcoming ‘Lion King’ Prequel

Blue Ivy voices Kiara, the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala, as she appears alongside her mother in the film adaptation of the 1994 animated film of the same title.

The daughter of Jay-Z and Beyoncé, Blue Ivy Carter, has been added to the voice cast of “Mufasa: The Lion King,” the upcoming prequel to The Lion King.

Carter voices Kiara, the daughter of King Simba and Queen Nala, as she appears alongside her mother in the film adaptation of the 1994 animated film of the same title.

The film, which is a prequel to “The Lion King,” released in 2019, brings back the original cast, including John Kani as Rafiki, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa, Billy Eichner as Timon, Donald Glover as Simba, and Beyoncé Knowles-Carter as Nala.

In the movie’s teaser, Rafiki narrates the story of Mufasa to Kiara, a young lion cub who is the daughter of Simba and Nala, along with Timon and Pumba.

The story, which is told in flashbacks, starts with Mufasa as an abandoned cub who is lost and alone until he meets Taka, a kind lion who is descended from a royal family, and becomes adopted into his family.

The new film is directed by Barry Jenkins and  stars new members including Kelvin Harrison Jr. as Taka,Tiffany Boone as Sarabi, Kagiso Lediga as Young Rafiki, Preston Nyman as Zazu, Mads Mikkelsen as Kiros; a formidable lion with big plans for his pride,Thandiwe Newton as Taka’s mother, Eshe Lennie James as Obasi, Anika Noni Rose as Mufasa’s mother and Keith David as Mufasa’s father, Masego.

Lin-Manuel Miranda is writing the movie’s songs and producing it alongside Mark Mancina.

Considered as one of Disney’s most successful franchises, the 1994 animated “Lion King” grossed $960 million worldwide, while the 2019 live-action version grossed $1.6 billion.
