Nigerian Afrobeat singer Davido and his wife, Chioma Rowland, unofficially announced their marriage via photos from a family gathering. The pair made their first public appearance after the death of their 3-year-old son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.
Rumours had it that Davido had married Chioma following the tragedy. But as both have been confined in private, confirmation was not possible. But yesterday, photos of the duo attending a family event validated speculations that the pair married in privacy with family and a few friends.
Apart from Chioma’s sparkling, glittering diamond-encrusted wedding band, another video from the gathering showed Davido’s father asking him where his wife, Chioma, was.
Many celebrated, wishing the couple well, especially as they looked refreshed in the photos beaming with smiles.
Davido and Chioma lost their only son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, to a drowning incident on Monday, October 31st, 2022, at his Banana Island home. During investigations, members of Davido’s household were picked up for questioning, narrowing on the chef and nanny, who both displayed negligence.
A few weeks after the incident, Davido postponed his A.W.A.Y. Festival to November 2023. He also unfollowed a few people on Instagram, including DJ Cuppy and her billionaire father, Femi Otedola.
