Dec. 7 Polls: NPP orders PCs to campaign 4 days a week in constituencies

“You should know that this lack of engagement would significantly affect our electoral fortunes in both presidential and parliamentary elections,” the statement cautioned.

The governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has mandated all parliamentary candidates to spend a minimum of four days per week in their constituencies to enhance their campaign efforts ahead of the December 7 general elections.

In a statement issued on Friday, 4 October 2024, signed by its General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party expressed serious concerns over the inconsistent presence of some candidates in their constituencies, warning that this could negatively impact the party’s performance in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.

“You should know that this lack of engagement would significantly affect our electoral fortunes in both presidential and parliamentary elections,” the statement cautioned.

To address this concern, the NPP underscored the importance of candidates dedicating sufficient time to connect with constituents, emphasising the need for active participation in local affairs.

Additionally, the party has instructed regional campaign teams to closely monitor the activities of candidates, stating: “The regional campaign teams are hereby directed to submit weekly reports of the activities of their parliamentary candidates to the National Secretariat.

“We trust in your usual attention and cooperation in this matter.”
