It has been established that, the regional Forestry Commission manager, and some other elements are involved in cutting down some reserved wood species including rosewood for logging purposes. This is for personal gains.

While residents in the area are angry over this development and are calling for swift arrest and prosecution of these Forestry Commission officials and other individuals involved in this distasteful activity, the Public Affairs Directorate of the Commission is yet to respond to the development.

Meanwhile, all efforts are underway to petition the Special Prosecutor for the arrest and prosecution of the said officials and owners of the said company.
