Even before arraigning the driver, Kofi Mireku before court on Friday, the Central Regional Police Commander, DCOP Paul Awuni discounted the driver’s claims that he was not making an overtaking as he was driving in second gear.

The Commander also denied the allegation that a certain bus ran over the injured victims after the accident and in the event killed a number of them.

“There’s some allegation that on that day a vehicle ran over through the victims who were rescued and possibly killed a number of victims. Our preliminary investigations have not shown that this is the case. That cannot be true as at this stage of our investigations.”
