Dr Owusu Sekyere Takes Over as Interim Korle Bu CEO

He announced the interim CEO’s work will officially start on October 6 while they await the next line of action by the government.

Experienced paediatrician and lecturer, Dr Frank Owusu Sekyere, has been appointed as the interim Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital in Accra, in the Greater Accra Region.

He will take over from Dr. Opoku Ware Ampomah whose tenure ends on Saturday, October 5, 2024, after serving for four years.

A letter to the outgoing CEO by the Board Chairman of the hospital Dr David Nkansa-Dwamena commended him for his dedication and commitment to the affairs of the health facility.

“On behalf of the Board, I extend our sincerest congratulations to you for your dedication and invaluable contribution to the growth and development of the hospital during your tenure.”

He announced the interim CEO’s work will officially start on October 6 while they await the next line of action by the government.

“As we await communication from the appointing authorities regarding the next steps, the Board has resolved to appoint Dr. Frank Owusu-Sekyere, Director of Medical Affairs, to act as Interim Chief Executive Officer effective October 6th, 2024.”

It added, “The Board’s primary concern remains the seamless continuity of the Hospital’s operations and the well-being of our patients. We solicit the cooperation and support of all stakeholders during this transition period.”
