The President, Nana Akufo-Addo, has reassigned Dr Stephen Amoah as Deputy Minister for Finance from his current position of Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
Dr Amoah’s reassignment was contained in a letter signed by Eugene Arhin, the Director of Communications at the Jubilee House and dated April 2, 2024.
“The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has reassigned the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for Nhyiaeso, Hon. Stephen Amoah, as Deputy Minister for Finance.
“Hon. Stephen Amoah, until his redesignation, was the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry, and he takes over from the late Hon. John Kumah, who passed away on 7th March 2024. His appointment takes effect immediately.
“Following the reassignment of Hon. Stephen Amoah as Deputy Minister for Finance, President Akufo-Addo has appointed, subject to parliamentary approval, Hon. Kofi Ahenkorah Marfo, Member of Parliament for Achiase, as Deputy Minister-designate for Trade and Industry.
“President Akufo-Addo is hopeful that Parliament will, once again, on a bi-partisan basis, expedite the approval of his nominee, so he can join the Government forthwith, and assist in the delivery of his mandate for his second term in office”, read the press release from the Presidency.
The Nhyiaeso Constituency lawmaker took office as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry on April 4, 2023 and his move to the Finance Ministry comes exactly a year after assuming office as Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry.
